Red Ribbon Week

| October 29, 2019

Congratulations to our 2019 Munster Red Ribbon Week Poster Contest overall winner, Molly from St. Thomas More School. The contest was sponsored by the Choice Community Council/Munster Police Department (Munster, Indiana). Red Ribbon Week is an alcohol, tobacco, and other drug and violence prevention awareness campaign observed annually in October in the United States. It began as a tribute to fallen DEA special agent Enrique Camerena in 1985.

Several weeks ago, Munster students grades K-12 were invited to create a poster for Red Ribbon Week, and individual winners were chosen to represent each of the seven Munster schools. Last Thursday, those posters competed against each other for the grand prize, which was chosen by the members of the Choice Community Council. So many great poster submissions! Our very own Jennifer Cosenza was on hand to award the grand prize winner a $50 gift card. Please take a look at this year's winning poster and thank you to all of the students who participated this year!
