Personal Umbrella

We live in a litigious society. Uninsured lawsuits can be financially devastating. One of the ways the Brown Insurance Group practices personal risk management with clients is by being familiar with available personal umbrella policies and how well those policies cover

liability risks not otherwise insured by underlying liability policies. Equally important, we believe it is vital to carry extra coverage above standard liability limits to protect your assets, potential earnings and inheritances if you are sued.

Personal Flood Insurance

With so many changes with our weather patterns, locations which have never incurred flood loss before are experiencing flooding. If you live in a flood-prone area (an “A” or “V” zone), your risk of flood loss is nearly 26 times that of fire loss. While obtaining flood insurance for high-risk areas may be required by your financial institution, you may still want to consider flood protection if your home is not in a high-risk area.

In fact, more than one-third of flood loss claims are for property located outside high flood-risk areas due to heavy rains or melting snow – both of which raise the level of ground water and contribute to the overflow of lakes, rivers or streams. That's why it's a good idea to discuss your exposure to flood loss with a Brown Insurance Group representative regardless of the area in which you reside.
